Noah and I (Sage) have known each other our entire lives. When people ask us when we first met, we love to tell the story of my mom holding little baby Noah at my baby shower. We have always been close. We loved to play games and go on hikes. We always enjoyed messing around with each other because of our competitive spirits.
Once we reached our teenage years, we became more than
just acquaintances, but best friends. One Sunday morning we were talking to my great grandmother when she said, “ Noah you should take Sage to prom”. We both said No, were just friends. It got Noah thinking Why dont I like her? Shes pretty and shes my best friend. Many months later, Noah got the courage to ask me on a date. Throughout all of this, I was debating on how I felt about him. I knew that I loved Noah, but not quite sure in which way. He had always been a very close friend, but was there allowed to be something more? After wrestling with my thoughts and through prayer, I realized I liked him too, and so I happily said yes, when he asked me on a date.
Its an unusual story, but by growing up together, we had already known pieces of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Which just strengthened our relationship. We love spending time in quiet places and hanging out with friends and family.
We both volunteer in our youth group, which has only brought us closer together. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love and know that we wanted to be able to say goodnight not goodbye. Right before he left for college in Ohio, on August 11th 2024, on a camping trip with myself and his family he asked me to marry him. I was so excited and so absolutely astonished that I forgot to say yes, but the look on my face and the way I hugged him, said yes for me.
Now, we are getting married on April 12, 2025. We are so excited to celebrate with all of you and to start a new chapter together.
Love, Sage and Noah
